George Bettany

MARA Founder & Head Coach

“I used to hate running, I was in my own head so much, constant negative thought and judgement

During lockdown I started to combine presence and mindfulness with running for the first time and changed everything.

Running is 90% mindset, 10% running. Improving my mindset has been the key to not only enjoying running for the first time, but to performing at my best

Since then I’ve ran further and faster than I ever believed I could and want others to experience this too”

Clara Evans

Clara is a British long-distance runner and has represented Great Britain at the 2024 Olympics and Wales at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

In 2023 Clara ran a 2:25 Marathon in Valencia breaking the Welsh Record.

Clara is currently training for the 2028 Olympics and joined the MARA Team in 2025 to lead on the design and programming of our RUN Programmes.

Chrissie Lewis

MARA Head Coach

“I was a competitive runner when I was younger but always found running brought a pressure to perform with it - something I’m constantly working to overcome - and I’m passionate about supporting others to do the same - to enjoy it! And perform at your best!”

Chrissie is a Meditation and Breathwork Practitioner and Performance Coach and joined the MARA Team in 2023 to lead our Retreats and now leads our MINDSET and PRO Programmes.

Paul Graham

Running Coach

“I started running in 2013 to try to lose some weight, at the time I was over 13 stone. My first race was Brighton Marathon which I completed in 4 hours 25 minutes.

Fast forward to today, over 4 stone lost and almost 2 hours taken off my marathon time and competing for Wales.

Starting points to current PB’s.

5K - 22:26 to 14:38
10K - 50:11 to 29:38
Half Marathon - 1:43:36 to 1:06:33
Marathon - 4:25:42 to 2:22:25

“I love the thrill of bettering myself and helping others to unlock their potential.

Along the way, I’ve made mistakes and I’m still learning everyday, with an ambition of running even faster.

I hope the things I’ve learned along the way can help others to achieve their goals and reach their potential too!”

Paul joined the MARA Team in 2025 alongside Clara to lead on our RUN programming.
